Getting to Know the King of Kings

I've have almost finished the book is called "Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ" by John Piper. It has been a refreshing look at the God we serve or for some the God they hate. God's glory shines through everything around us, but most prevalently through the work and life of Jesus Christ. He gave up this glorious thrown to live a life of scandalous reputation that started out with His birth to Mary an unwed mother. During His life no one was able to match His wisdom even at age 12 He baffled the religious leaders with His wisdom and knowledge. Throughout His ministry "He baffled the proud scribes with his wisdom, but was simple enough to be loved by children" John Piper. The great complicity of God demands us to deny Him or bow in his Glory and worship Him. I would recommend the bow and worship I don't envy those that oppose the God of creation. He is a loving and merciful God but also He is the God of Justice and wrath. Some might say, well how can that be? I say how can you truly love someone and have mercy without the justice and wrath these traits do not work on their own. Hope you enjoy these thoughts from the road as I read through this book I would encourage anyone else interest in a short easy to read book centered on Jesus Christ as seen in the scriptures to get a hold of a copy and enjoy. But most importantly I what to challenge those that are believers get out and share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others "Life is too short, too precious, too painful to waste on worldly bubbles that burst. Heaven is too great, hell is too horrible, eternity is too long that we should putter around on the porch of eternity."John Piper
