A Moment From The Heart

As I prepare to head into week number five on the road I thought I would share with you a little of what I have been learning as a new missionary. This new life that God has called my family too is hard, long, exciting, fun, interesting, and challenging. When you take all these emotions and wrap them into one you end up with a pretty interesting day. I have never been more challenged to learn so many new things at once and still be excited about everything at the same time. I feel like God has being preparing me for this role my whole life and now that I am finally here it feels like coming home. I love working beside Greg as we share with different Churches, met with different people, and being able to home school the boys. God has been challenging Greg and I as we learn all the new role's of our life and at the same time he is making us stronger in our faith. The children are missing home but are still having a wonderful time as we are starting to meet with different people at there homes. This is allowing the children to meet new people, work on their manners, eat different kinds of food, and play with new friends. Sometimes I do find this new adventure hard and at times overwhelming then I hear that still small voice reminding me that I am following the Lords will not mine. And God reminds me that a life following the Lord is one amazing adventure after another when you are walking beside the Lord. So I am going to enjoy this adventure and keep praising my God as I follow Him.

Getting to Know the King of Kings

I've have almost finished the book is called "Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ" by John Piper. It has been a refreshing look at the God we serve or for some the God they hate. God's glory shines through everything around us, but most prevalently through the work and life of Jesus Christ. He gave up this glorious thrown to live a life of scandalous reputation that started out with His birth to Mary an unwed mother. During His life no one was able to match His wisdom even at age 12 He baffled the religious leaders with His wisdom and knowledge. Throughout His ministry "He baffled the proud scribes with his wisdom, but was simple enough to be loved by children" John Piper. The great complicity of God demands us to deny Him or bow in his Glory and worship Him. I would recommend the bow and worship I don't envy those that oppose the God of creation. He is a loving and merciful God but also He is the God of Justice and wrath. Some might say, well how can that be? I say how can you truly love someone and have mercy without the justice and wrath these traits do not work on their own. Hope you enjoy these thoughts from the road as I read through this book I would encourage anyone else interest in a short easy to read book centered on Jesus Christ as seen in the scriptures to get a hold of a copy and enjoy. But most importantly I what to challenge those that are believers get out and share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others "Life is too short, too precious, too painful to waste on worldly bubbles that burst. Heaven is too great, hell is too horrible, eternity is too long that we should putter around on the porch of eternity."John Piper

High lights from the first week on the Road

Life this past week and a half has been one filled with many great moments and memories that will not every be forgotten. The children loved traveling through Canada and stopping at new places every night. Just to get up the next day and start all over again as we heading to our next stop. We have been blessed with some wonderful friends and family who have opened up their homes to us and allowed us to stay with them. Our family has been on Vancouver Island since late Thursday night and plan to head back through BC on Wednesday heading to Alberta where we will be for the next two months. This past weekend we had the great privilege of speaking at Sayward Christian Fellowship here on the Island. It was our first time doing a full presentation and had a wonderful time of fellowship and making new friends. On Saturday one of Greg’s cousins was married so we were able to see many different family members that we have not see in about seven years. And the kids have been having a blast as were are staying in a camper these past few days and that is a new experience for them. They have been trying to get us to go camping all summer long without much success so to be able to come here and sleep in a camper has been a huge highlight this weekend. And then to top it all off Greg’s parents and sister’s family from Alberta were here just made it even better. So please pray for us as we will be traveling for a few more days through the mountains as we head to Alberta. There Greg and I will be based for two months and I will be starting to home school the boys starting on Monday.
